Öppnade precis min email och fick denna extremt tråkiga nyhet från några bekanta...
Very tragically it appears that Wes Skiles died earlier today (Weds 21st), and from the limited news we have received at time of writing (not yet fully confirmed), reportedly he was diving a rebreather, on a Nat Geo shoot, somewhere offshore from West Palm Beach, FL. We don’t know anything further yet about what happened, but I am sure more information will emerge over the next few days.
Wes was a fantastic photographer/videographer, one of the cave diving originals, and such a great fun guy to be around. We were fortunate to have a long chat with him at the May CDS, ranging from high speed video and lighting techniques to when we would visit with him next and where to go to eat fish in Chiefland, but of course when we said goodbye that evening we had no idea it would be the last time we would ever get to talk with him. He will be sorely missed by us all.
