DAN Europe for the Victims of the Indian Ocean Tsunami
Dear DAN Europe Members,
The exceptional nature of the recent catastrophe in the Indian Ocean caused devastating damage and deeply affected the local diving industry. Many DAN Europe Members there have lost everything, in many cases even their jobs and income. Notwithstanding the tragedy and the personal losses, the professional diving community has, particularly in Thailand, dedicated all its energy and efforts to assist the victims of the disaster. As you all know, DAN Europe had instituted the Claudius Obermaier Beneficiary Fund to help divers in needy situations, and we believe that this exceptional circumstance justifies the use of this fund. We are calling on all of you, our members, for a special donation to the DAN Europe Claudius Obermaier Beneficiary Fund so that we can effectively help the victims and the volunteers involved in the Tsunami Tragedy of 26 December 2004. DAN Europe will evaluate each request for help individually and will make sure that help is given where it is really needed.
